Valleyview is blessed to have a great facility and property. We hosted our spring clean-up, which had to be postponed a couple of weeks due to a late spring snowfall. However a good deal of work was accomplished.

The western curb was significantly cleaned up by removing the trees and scrub-brush; as well the old church sign was taken down (in compliance with an order from the city to remove it because we did not have a permit for it).

Our front lawn was leveled and landscaped and seeded, the base-material from the old sign was dug up and disposed of, all courtesy of ATCO gas as part of their easement deal with us.

The flower gardens and grounds were looked after during the summer and we thank everyone who was involved in the gardening, weeding, watering, mowing and spraying. Unfortunately we have a couple families of pocket gophers who decided to dig up our grounds and move in, we still need to figure out a solution for that in 2009.

Late spring saw some heavy rains and our building sprung a few leaks – we have since identified two of the three and are in the process of fixing them. We have not determined the source of the water which leaked into the Kidz Zone room and will be watching closing this spring to see if it re-occurs, and if so what to do to fix it.

Overall the building is in good repair, and only regular maintenance is expected in 2009.
