We continue to be blessed by our worship team at Valleyview. In 2008 we were pleased to transition the position of Choir Director into a broader leadership position of Director of Worship and Arts. Session officially recognized the leadership gifts of Amoriza Gunnink, who had been serving unofficially in this area for some time, and engaged her in this contract position.

Amoriza continues to gather and assemble musicians, dancers, and other worship resources to provide us with creative, inspiring times of worship that blend the best of the old and the new together.

Special events through-out the year included the “Corps Bara” dancers, the Cochrane Alliance Kids ministry presentation of “The Music Machine” as well as “The Fortissimo’s” a South African choir that was touring Alberta, we enjoyed their ministry very much. We even hosted the St. Andrews Scottish society’s “Kirken of the Tarten” celebration during our “Christ Transforming Culture” series.

2008 saw our band grow with the addition of a drum set, an electric guitar, and the occasionally some African Drums. We also upgraded our sound system, installing some new speakers and recording equipment.

We also began to have congregation members regularly participate in scripture reading and leading the prayers of the people.
